Oshkosh, Wisconsin – July 2026 – Flight Design General Aviation GmbH proudly introduced the new F2-M160 at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2026, marking the aircraft’s official North American debut following its successful launch in Europe earlier this year.
Designed for the next generation of light aviation, the F2-M160 has been developed to take advantage of the opportunities expected under the FAA’s upcoming MOSAIC regulations. Combining German engineering, advanced composite construction and cutting-edge avionics, the aircraft delivers outstanding performance, efficiency and safety for recreational, training and personal flying.
The F2-M160 is powered by the latest Rotax 916 iS turbocharged engine and features a full Garmin avionics suite, with the option of the all-new Garmin AXIS™ integrated flight deck. With a target maximum gross weight of 750 kg, an impressive useful load of approximately 300 kg, and a target cruise speed of up to 170 knots at higher altitudes, the aircraft offers an exceptional balance of capability and operating efficiency.
Safety remains at the heart of every Flight Design aircraft. The F2-M160 incorporates a high-strength composite safety cell, spin-resistant aerodynamic design and a whole-aircraft emergency parachute recovery system, providing multiple layers of protection for pilots and passengers.
“The F2-M160 represents our vision for the future of personal aviation,” said Mr. Yongwu Chen, CEO of Flight Design General Aviation GmbH. “Every Flight Design aircraft is built around three fundamental principles: safety, efficiency and the joy of flying. With the F2-M160, we have combined German engineering, advanced composite technology, the latest Rotax 916 iS engine, Garmin avionics and one of the industry’s most comprehensive safety concepts to create an aircraft that sets a new benchmark for the MOSAIC era.”
With more than 2,000 composite aircraft delivered worldwide across over 40 countries, Flight Design continues to build on its reputation for innovation, quality and German engineering excellence. The F2-M160 reflects the company’s commitment to shaping the future of light aviation with aircraft designed for tomorrow’s pilots and tomorrow’s regulations.
