Shang Gong Group has acquired the light aircraft manufacturer Flight Design General Aviation, based in Eisenach, Germany.
“We are very pleased to acquire Flight Design and are confident that the company will soon regain its leading global position in the development and manufacturing of light aircraft,” said Yongwu Chen, Vice President of Shang Gong Group, who has been living in Germany for over 20 years.
“Our customers can look forward to a significantly increased production capacity in the Czech Republic, as well as a range of product upgrades,” Chen added. In a relatively short but intensive and constructive process, Flight Design and its subsidiaries were successfully sold to a strong, globally active strategic investor.This ensures that the company’s extensive know-how and its high-quality aircraft—recognized as among the leading products in the light aircraft segment—will be preserved.
The management teams of Flight Design and its production facility, Flight Design CZ, have also welcomed the new investor. “Shang Gong Group is a modern and forward-looking industrial company.
This acquisition opens up new opportunities for both customers and employees. In addition, Flight Design will benefit from significant synergies with other projects within the Shang Gong Group,” the management team stated.
