Flight Design General Aviation management and regional managers for the company met last week at the modern LIFT Air headquarters at Eisenach Kindel airport (EDGE) to discuss the future of the company. Discussion items included improvements to the management of spare parts inventory, service for different regions and customer suggestions for improvements to the different aircraft made by the company. Many important announcements were the result of these meetings.
Flight Design has split its sales and service organization into 4 regions: Western and Southern Europe along with North Africa will be managed by Flight Design Regional Service Center West Europe, headed by Christophe Briand. Northern and Eastern Europe, and South Africa will be managed directly by FDGA with Gica Pascariu managing those areas. North, Central and South America will be managed by Flight Design USA, headed by Tom Peghiny. China and South-East Asia will continue to be served by licensee, AeroJones Aviation, Taiwan.
With a renewed focus on service for new and existing owners, a plan to increase the number of Flight Design Authorized Service Centers was announced. Each will offer fixed prices for typical service and maintenance with a complete inventory of Genuine Flight Design Parts maintained in stock. Aircraft serviced at these exclusive locations will be offered extended warranties as well as other benefits.
A Flight Design owned maintenance Service Center is being created at Eisenach Kindel (EDGE) with full airframe, avionic and Rotax service offered. The company plans the opening of the FD Service Center Eisenach to begin in November 2017.
An online Flight Design Genuine Spare Parts shop will be available on www.flightdesign.com by the beginning of Autumn, 2017.
A renewed commitment to European Ultralight customers and Flying Clubs with the launch of the CTSL SuperClub UL. The nicely equipped CTSL version is now offered at 85.900€. CTLS-LSA versions will soon be offered again with the production organization approval anticipated by Spring 2018. All Flight Design aircraft for sale are offered with the LIFT Air secured deposit program. A plan to offer financing to qualified purchasers and clubs will be announced later in the year. Flight Design plans to make evolutionary improvements and bring production of new aircraft and spare parts up to levels not seen in 5 years.
