July 11th Eisenach, Germany
Today, a big milestone in the history of Flight Design general aviation was reached with the delivery of the first EASA type certified aircraft by the Flight Design Production Organization in Sumperk, Czech Republic.
The first aircraft, an headed for the AeroClub VAUCLUSIEN in France had its Form 52 document released by the Czech CAA on July 11th. Achieving this was the just the first result of the successful restructuring of Flight Design and of the hard work of an amazing international team of engineers from Germany, Ukraine and the Czech Republic.
Flight Design CZ Test Pilot Joseph Charvat, an experienced industry professional was surprised by the standard of the onboard equipment including a 3 screen Dynon HDX glass cockpit, autopilot, com radio and transponder for 144,000.00 Euros.
Flight Design regional center Europe West owner Christophe Briand said. “We are very pleased that our customer Aeroclub Vauclusien and his president Stephane Guendon has taken delivery of their 3rd CTLS, now with RTC. AC Vauclusien is our reference in France since they have accumulated more than 6000h of flight training on the CTLS. This is the best opportunity for the CTLS ELA to demonstrate its robust structure, suitability for training and cost efficiency for Ab-initio training in Aeroclub and professional flying school”, said Christophe.
Flight Design anticipates that one CTLS RTC will now be delivered each week for the near future until the backlog of orders are fulfilled. More good news is that for the PTF CTLS the same approval system in place will be also now be used for the PTF conversions which will also start at the end of July!
